The ASSET LED is designed to meet and exceed the needs of many industrial lighting applications. Asset complies with the Ingress Protection rating of IP66, and approved for permanent outdoor usage.

Short seal technology

The shorter the seal,
the better it seals.

Sealed like a bottle, the Asset uses pressure fitted, closed dimensional seals of short length to create a fully sealed compartment. This short seal technology allows the Asset to be a fail-safe choice for wet, high humidity or outdoor applications.

Engineered thermal management

Works in conditions from -40ºc to 58ºc ambient.

With industrial lighting products, longevity is paramount. One way of ensuring LED and driver longevity is to create optimal thermal conditions. The standard Asset uses engineered thermal management, allowing for operation in ambient temperatures from -30ºc, up to and exceeding 58ºc, whilst keeping the electronics in prime condition. Asset can also be special ordered for temperatures down to -40ºc.

Thermal LED management of the Asset LED is undertaken using custom designed heat sinks, in conjunction with control gear cooling.

 

The aluminium spine collects generated heat from the LED driver, and also airborne thermals in the lens, and disperses heat throughout the entire surface area.

 

In addition, the custom heat sinks are directly connected to the LED boards to draw the heat to the lens surface. A two part heat sink is secured together during assembly, and being anodised has a 50% greater surface area. Regardless of this treatment, the linear surface area is 40% greater than required for the LED specification, thus enabling an ambient temperature range of up to 58ºC.

The Asset is constructed from advanced polymers and marine grade aluminium to ensure a long lasting product. These materials are resistant to many elements and hazardous substances often found in industrial environments.

From extreme temperatures, water and dust, to chemicals and UV, Asset will work in the toughest environments.

Aluminium spine & heat sink

The spine and heat sink are 6000 series marine grade aluminium, extruded locally in Australia. 6000 series aluminium contains no copper, eliminating galvanic corrosion. The polyester powder coated spine ensures the metal is fully sealed as an added protection layer. This polymer treatment is tough, and will not crack or chip over time. The heat sink is anodised which increases the surface area by 50% adding greater heat dissipation.

Impact resistance

Fracture proof lens.

Being resistant to chemical elements is important in an industrial environment, however so is the ability to withstand forceful impact. Advanced high impact polycarbonate lenses provide peace of mind knowing the LED’s are protected from accidents. Fracture proof lenses are a must have in food processing areas. The lenses are also UV stabilised, meaning they resist deterioration and discolouration over time from direct UV exposure in outdoor installations.

Mounting options

Secure, safe installation.

Stainless steel mounting clips provide ‘variable’ mounting positions along the spine of the Asset luminaire for ceiling, wall or suspended installations. An included safety over-lock clip ensures security from vibration and adverse weather conditions.

IP66 rating.

The Asset luminaire is designed to meet an IP66 rating. The approach to manufacturing design was to use short seal technology. The proven method of long term high pressure seals is achieved by designing for the smallest seal possible and using screw down pressure between ‘true’ matching surfaces.

Unlike many other weatherproof luminaires using diffuser clips, the Asset LED has no parts that can snap off or fall from the luminaire. Cable entry is via an IP68 gland, threaded directly into the end cap and tightened onto a compression seal. Conduits may also be used with a threaded 20mm adaptor.

High performance LED boards.

The Asset uses industrial grade LED chips on linear printed circuit boards – for high performance, long life and for use in extreme environments. The LED’s in the Asset can operate in extreme high and low temperatures.

LED longevity

Superior heat sinking.

LED’s produce heat as a byproduct of light – every watt of light will produce heat which must be extracted from the luminaire. The Asset does this by using a two part heat sink which wraps onto the lens. This design increases the cooling surface area and transmits the generated heat out of the luminaire. The heat sink design operates at only 60% of its capacity, ensuring the reliability and longevity of the LED’s.

Optic control

Glare free light distribution.

Singularly, LED’s are a powerful ‘point source’ of light. When combined in groups to produce high lumen output, the LED’s high density luminance can cause disability glare and become hazardous to occupants if not controlled correctly. The Asset uses acrylic diffusing and beam control lenses to assist in eliminating glare, whilst improving the quality and performance of the emitted light.

Retina Triple Guard Plus™.

The Asset has been designed to effectively produce high quality light distribution, whilst reducing hazardous disability glare. Using 3 distinct methods, the Asset has achieved remarkable results and creates a comfortable lighting environment for persons using the illuminated space.

This is achieved by:

1: Reducing the luminance density with linear LED’s by increasing the luminance area (cd/m²).

2: Using lenses for both beam control and diffusion of light, controls and reduces glare.

3: Light source shielding is achieved with the heat sink and end cap design controlling the angular output of light. Additionally, the rotational lens has the ability to direct light where it’s needed. The specific polycarbonate lens material formula has the added benefit of blue light filtering.

Energy efficient LED technology.

The Asset luminaire uses energy efficient, high output LED’s. The LED’s in the Assed luminaire can reduce power consumption by 75% when compared to traditional 400W Hi-bay fittings. The Asset LED’s are rated for 50,000 hours L90/F10 and 100,000 hours L80/F10. Additionally, the Assed luminaire requires little maintenance, and has replaceable parts to extend the life of the fitting.

Smarter lighting

Microwave sensor upgrade.

The Asset LED with microwave sensor is an ideal product for warehouse and factory environments needing a high output lighting solution with reduced operation cost. The microwave sensor is used for both vacancy and presence detection, as well as daylight harvesting. Combining these features can reduce energy consumption by up to 91%, compared to traditional HID Hi-bay luminaires. The Asset LED with microwave sensor is available for both the single and twin lens fittings.

Presence detection.

The microwave sensor for vacancy and presence detection enables the luminaire to turn on when workers are around, then dim down when there is no one present.

A person walks (or drives a forklift) across the warehouse to pick product off a shelf. The luminaires ‘switch ON’ as their zones are entered.

 

The person collects their products from the shelf and moves to the dispatch area. Continued movement within activated zones will keep resetting those luminaires’ timers providing continuous illumination. Any movement in new zones activates luminaires. Luminaires in activated zones, no longer occupied, will now be dimming down to lower light levels. Next, the 2nd timer times out to either switch OFF or stay illuminated at a pre-set dimmed level.

 

The Warehouse uses only the lighting needed for the task and for the time the task takes. Occupied zones are always illuminated. The luminaires in unoccupied areas of the warehouse do not switch on, saving costly, non-essential energy usage.

 

The additional bonus with occupancy sensors is that, whilst the lighting is not operating, it is also not ageing, which mitigates future maintenance costs.

Microwave sensor upgrade

Daylight harvesting.

The microwave sensor also allows for the integration of daylight harvesting, dimming the lights up or down depending on the amount of natural light within the space. Daylight harvesting can also keep the workspace within a consistent light level, increasing comfort as well as conserving energy.
